About the Program

The Applied Economics Graduate Program is a unique partnership of applied economists from across the University of Minnesota’s Twin Cities campus. Participating academic units include:

We offer MS and PhD degrees in Applied Economics. Current fields of study for the PhD degree include:

The MS and PhD programs prepare students for a variety of employment opportunities. Graduates take faculty positions at universities in the U.S. and abroad, research and administrative positions with government agencies and international organizations, and positions with private sector firms. Many of our MS graduates continue their studies in our PhD program.
